About the course:

This unique course aims to offer students the opportunity to learn about fish and wildlife resources in the State of Texas and acquire knowledge and skills to become better stewards of our environment.  The course is appropriate for middle and high school students and meets most requirements for the Aquatic Science and Environmental Systems courses recognized by the Texas Education Agency. About the Author:

Lee Ann Johnson Linam

Lee Ann Johnson Linam holds a Bachelors Degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University, along with graduate diplomas in Environmental Science from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and in Global Nutrition Programming from Tufts University.  Lee Ann spent 30 years with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, where she worked as a wetlands biologist, directed the Endangered Species Program, and developed Texas Nature Trackers, the Wildlife Division’s citizen science program. Always interested in conservation education, after retirement from TPWD, Lee Ann taught science for homeschool families for eight years, where she developed a unique Texas Wildlife Ecology course for middle and high school students.  Lee Ann is active in missions activities in the Church of the Nazarene, serving as Director of Education for Noah’s FARM, an NGO doing agriculture, education, and evangelism work in Zimbabwe. She also recently founded Bridges to Birding, a nonprofit dedicated to building livelihoods and bird conservation in Zimbabwe through ecotourism.
